New gallery images
I am adding some recent test renders to my gallery, I have been a bit busy with work related projects that cannot be posted yet, most of the new images are re-renders of old work :(
At any rate these are all pretty recent, and hopefully leading toward something better.

Thanks for viewing!

Making the most, when you are making the least.....
I am willing to bet there are quite a few people here that are consultants, contractors or freelancers. Due to the nature of our field, there inevitably are going to be times when you have a little down time-you know....days off.
A day or 2 seems cool, a little break if you typically work long hours-we're production artists.... we always work long hours. But what happens when you have a week off? Nervous? Anxious? Addicted to your x-box?
I am guilty of being anxious, and for the sake of staying focused, opted not to buy an x-box. These days off, the days when I am making the least as far as income, are the days I chose to make the most of my free time.
How you say?
Fire up the workstation and focus on things I feel need improvement. Not a bad renderer, but could be better-----Read, read and read, and test, test, test.
Observed a cool animation trick at work but aren't an animator--give it a go.
Contact new studios and potential clients, work on your site, learn a new application.....

The point is, downtime, doesn't need to get you down. You can do so much that may not seem significant when you are doing it, but a month, 2 or even 6 down the road, you are better at what you do. All the things you practice, all the time you spend, is time well spent.

There you have it, an easy way to "make the most" when you make the least.

Thanks for reading!

I am currently updating my website-ToddDaniele.com
My website was looooooong overdue for an update, so the past few days I have been putting together some of my more recent projects, as well as tweaking the look of the site. In addition to still images, I have added some Quicktime clips from the past year.
The tutorial section is still being worked on, expect it to be fully functional in the near future.

New shoes.....not on my feet :)
I have updated my CGTalk Portfolio, as well as my website with some new recent work. During the NIKE project we purchased Polyboost at work...I can give an official plug to this product......amazing features, I love it!!! I may be writing a 3DS modeling book, still very early on in the process, but things are looking good. I will fill in details as they become available.

Reflections...CG and real
Admittedly I have never "Blogged" before, so bear with me on the content and speellling.
Just joined as a CGSociety member, I am hoping to show/post information about projects not featured on my website, and give potential clients a little view into what I have been working on.
While I continue to produce content for Adobe Acrobat, the last few months have seen a shift in the type of work I am doing for other clients. Since early summer I have been creating 3d content for television and web based advertising. I've been fortunate enough to work on some high-profile projects, and work with-- learn from an amazing collection of CG professionals in the NYC area.

So that's where I am right now, working, learning and really enjoying what I do and who I do it with.
